Our Journey to Date
Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Vince Mitchell and the business owner of Alex Clark Lettings Gloucester and a lifelong friend of Alex Clark. I have seen how Alex grew his Cheltenham business over the last 22 years making it a trusted and well respected name within the lettings industry.
I have been involved with property for more than 35 years doing different things within this industry. My previous employment includes ground works, Property and Facilities Management for HSBC, a Local Authority and General Manager for a Development company predominantly working in Bristol and London. Alex decided to franchise his business in 2011 when I became his first franchisee in August of that year. I opened the Gloucester office on 1 August 2011 along with my daughter. Since that time the team has grown to 5 (and what a great team we are – This is a sincere and public BIG THANK YOU from me to them all xXx). As a franchised business we work to the same exacting procedures that grew Alex’s business, making it the most prestigious independent agent in Cheltenham/Gloucestershire. In late 2014 Alex sold his Cheltenham business after 22 years, there was the urge for newer pastures….!
At this point there was the option to remain part of the franchise or buy myself out with the latter being my preferred option. We are still trading as Alex Clark Lettings, Gloucester, “if it’s not broke, why fix it…!” We have been trading for 4 years in August 2015 and in that time we’ve grown from strength to strength with most of this coming from recommendations from landlord, tenants, contractor and other property professionals.
To Close – “I hope I’ve not bored you too much, but if you are reading this, I guess I’ve succeeded..!” I’m a great believer in old school values but love utilising and exploring modern technology. A big part of this job apart from the legal, compliance and knowledge of property is having the right “people skills”. On the odd occasion the team will have to ask “awkward” questions of a tenant or landlord. It’s about being fair, professional and courteous at all times
